The correct number of snow rides in a single day is
The formula for calculating the correct number of snow rides on any given day with snow on the ground is the same as the formula to calculate the correct number of bikes one should own: n+1.
First ride was early at Fairland in the DC suburbs near Silver Spring with my buddy Sponge. The ground was frozen, there was some ice and plenty of snow. It was 20F (-7C) when we started.
When we finished, the plan was to go home, but then it was a beautiful day so I changed my mind and headed to the 10 Mile Creek trailhead in Germantown, MD one of my favorite trails. It’s an out and back, and it was mostly packed snow.
I rode in shorts all day.
(Sponge suggested that I was crazy to ride in shorts, but when I offered to remove them, he changed his mind)
